Bonnie Raitt’s Just Like That was beautifully crafted in the summer of 2021 in Sausalito, CA. This album features an incredible lineup, including longtime band members bassist James ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson and drummer Ricky Fataar, alongside new talents like Canadian Glenn Patscha on keyboards and Nashville guitarist Kenny Greenberg. Raitt’s songwriting partner, George Marinelli, also contributed to the track ‘Livin’ for the Ones,’ showcasing the collaborative spirit that defines this project.
Once again, Bonnie takes the helm as producer, teaming up with her trusted mixing engineer, Ryan Freeland. Their previous collaboration won GRAMMY Awards for Raitt’s 2012 album, Slipstream. The diverse soundscapes in Just Like That reflect Raitt’s unwavering creativity and adventurous spirit, even after half a century in the industry. ‘On this record, I wanted to stretch,’ she shares. ‘I always seek out songs that excite me, and this time I’ve explored styles and topics I haven’t touched on before.’
