Released in February 1976, Genesis: A Trick Of The Tail marks the seventh studio album from the legendary English progressive rock band. After Peter Gabriel’s departure, the remaining members were determined to prove their musical prowess. During mid-1975, they composed and rehearsed new tracks while searching for a new lead vocalist.
Recording began at Trident Studios in October under the guidance of producer David Hentschel. With no fixed frontman, Phil Collins stepped up to provide the lead vocals on the standout track ‘Squonk’, delivering a performance that led him to sing on the entire album.
