Katia and Marielle Labèque, the renowned sister duo of pianists with a remarkable career spanning over fifty years, proudly present their latest album dedicated to Philip Glass’s extraordinary compositions. This release completes the operatic triptych created between 1993 and 1996, inspired by the iconic films of Jean Cocteau. Following their celebrated recording of Les Enfants Terribles in 2020, they now unveil the remaining two masterpieces from the Cocteau Trilogy: Orphée and La Belle et la Bête. These works have been meticulously arranged by Glass’s music director, Michael Riesman, specifically for the Labèque sisters.
Mark your calendars! The Katia Labèque concert schedule for 2024 includes extensive tours across France, Germany, the UK, and Ireland, where they will perform this enchanting program in various venues.
