Queens of the Stone Age have unveiled their highly anticipated eighth studio album, In Times New Roman, scheduled for release on June 16th through Matador Records. This album is a testament to the band’s evolution, offering a raw and sometimes brutal sound that showcases their most stunning work to date.
With founder Joshua Homme delivering his sharpest lyrics yet, the band’s signature sound is enriched with innovative twists across every track. In Times New Roman invites listeners to delve deeper, revealing beauty beneath the scars and turmoil that accompany life. This is the music QOTSA creates for themselves, while also providing a relatable refuge for fans.
As Homme sings, “The world’s gonna end in a month or two,” it prompts reflection on how we choose to spend our time. Joined by Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman, and Jon Theodore, the band doesn’t promise salvation but offers a space for us to navigate the ride together.
Recorded at Homme’s own Pink Duck studio, with additional sessions at Shangri-La, this album is produced by the band and mixed by Mark Rankin. Available on various digital platforms as well as on vinyl and CD, this limited edition will be offered in colors like black, green, red, silver, and blue. Don’t miss out on one of the best vinyl records for rock music!
