Yazmin Lacey’s journey as an artist is as inspiring as her music. Growing up in Manor Park, East London, she found her voice in Nottingham while volunteering for a children’s charity. Initially, making music was just a fun activity with friends, but a pivotal opportunity with Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers program transformed her path. Yazmin’s self-released debut EP, ‘Black Moon’, launched her career in 2017, followed by the critically acclaimed ‘When the Sun Dips 90 Degrees’ in 2018. Her latest EP, ‘Voice Notes’, showcases her evolution, featuring the hit track ‘Eye to Eye’, which has surpassed 14 million streams on Spotify. This EP is a must-have for fans of the best independent artist albums of 2023.
